Time spent on the trails and in campgrounds are the best memories I have from childhood. Back then, my folks were pretty cool people who loved the outdoors and taught us to love the wilderness, too.
Tucked between the covers of the Little Explorers edition are 25ish trails that have been hand-picked as suitable for new and little hikers. Highlights include accessible trails, trails with added features (beaches, playgrounds) and trails that are either shorter in length or less challenging.
You'll also find tips on how to make hiking fun/enjoyable/safe for little ones.
And all the photos in the book are submitted by caregivers/parents of Little Explorers on the trails featured in the book.
My mandate remains unchanged: to increase accessibility and inclusivity in the outdoor space by sharing my knowledge of the outdoors in hopes that it will help others feel confident in exploring Manitoba's wilderness.
